Eagles Mere Toboggan Slide ReturnsRecent colder temperatures have helped bring back one of Sullivan County’s most cherished winter traditions – the Eagles Mere Toboggan Slide! Just a few more inches of ice are needed to begin construction. The slide dates back to 1904 and its construction is an impressive effort from volunteers who cut over 1,000 ice blocks, each weighing 256 pounds, and carefully place them to create the slide. The process requires over 380 hours of work. Toboggans can be rented for $40 per hour, accommodating up to five adults. Rentals operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with guaranteed two runs per hour. Operating hours are as follows: Fridays: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM Weather conditions are being closely monitored to determine the slide’s opening. Updates can be found HERE.
