HARRISBURG – Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) recently recognized outgoing Lycoming County Commissioners, Tony Mussare and Rick Mirabito, on their retirement after many years of dedicated service.
“Tony and Rick have been trusted friends and colleagues in Lycoming County over the years,” Sen. Yaw said. “I commend them on their many contributions to our region and its residents and wish them all the best in their next chapters.”
Mussare entered the office of Commissioner in 2012 and has had a career spanning 36 years including, most recently, as Vice President of ARM Services, Inc. He and his sons, Anthony and John, also own and operate a real estate business.
Tony currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board. Under his leadership, the Board completed numerous community improvement projects, including hiring a management firm to turn the White Deer Golf Complex into a profitable operation, acquiring more than 1,000 acres of property from the Federal Bureau of Prisons to expand landfill operations, introducing a Bundled Bridge Program to replace 14 structurally deficient bridges, forming a team of non-federal sponsors to address deficiencies in the Williamsport levee system and partnering with the chamber of commerce to bring new businesses to the area.
Mirabito entered the office of Commissioner in 2016. He is a former member of the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania, where he was elected in 2008 and served the 83rd Legislative District for three consecutive terms. Formerly employed as court counsel for the Republic of Palau Supreme Court and as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, he has owned several businesses over the past 25 years.
During his time with the Board, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Lycoming County Partnership Health Center with Integrity Health and served on the county’s Conservation District, Library, Elections, Prison, Law Enforcement and Emergency Management Boards.
