HARRISBURG – Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) recently earned a 2021-2022 legislative voting score of 100% from the PA Chamber of Business and Industry for his consistent support of pro-jobs, pro-growth policies.
“I believe Pennsylvania is the best place to live in this country and want to see it grow and prosper,” Yaw said. “I am honored by the chamber’s recognition and appreciate their advocacy on behalf of our business community, big and small.”
As part of the 2022-23 budget, Yaw supported legislation to lower the corporate net income tax rate (CNIT), currently one of the highest in the nation, and modernize the tax code to lower the cost of real estate transactions. The latter helps primarily small business, which employ nearly half of all Pennsylvania employees.
“These changes will make Pennsylvania more competitive, attract investment and grow jobs and wages for residents,” Yaw said. “These successes position our state for a bright economic future and we are only getting started.”
The chamber also scored Yaw’s career legislative voting record at 95%. He was first elected to represent the 23rd senatorial district in 2008 and has spearheaded nearly two dozen bills, dating back to the Rendell administration, that would eventually become law.
