HARRISBURG – State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) formally recognized a law enforcement agency in his Senate District who donated protective equipment to humanitarian aid workers in Ukraine.
In the days following the initial Russian invasion of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies and volunteers began an effort to donate decommissioned or nearly decommissioned equipment – including bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets – to better protect aid workers.
Senator Yaw’s Office presented the Williamsport Bureau of Police with a Certificate of Recognition for their efforts.
“Our law enforcement agencies go above and beyond protecting our communities every day, so it is no surprise they are also supporting the safety and well-being of other people halfway around the globe,” Yaw said. “I strongly believe that kind of selflessness deserves to be recognized and honored.”
