Yaw: Redevelopment Projects in Bradford, Lycoming and Union Counties Receive Additional State Grants

Harrisburg – Three redevelopment projects in Bradford, Lycoming and Union counties received additional grants through the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) announced today.

The Evangelical Community Hospital received another $400,000 to continue modernizing its Main Campus in Union County. This, after the project was awarded a $500,000 grant in December 2021.

“I’m thrilled the state nearly doubled its original investment in Evangelical Community Hospital’s Energy Initiative,” Yaw said. “This project will help the hospital’s Main Campus building drastically reduce its carbon footprint, which demonstrates a strong commitment to prioritizing the physical and economic health and well-being of residents throughout my Senate district.”

The state awarded an additional $807,000 to the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s Towanda Campus revamp that received an initial grant of $3.5 million in December 2021. The grant will fund renovations to the hospital’s first floor and other infrastructure upgrades.

Lending Properties, LLC also received $152,840 to continue its renovation of three aging properties in Montgomery Borough to maximize usable space, upgrade machinery and facilitate company growth and job creation. The project initially received a $500,000 RACP grant in December 2021.

“These projects will bring new jobs and economic opportunity to the district, and I’m pleased the state boosted its investment in all three,” Yaw said. “Specifically, the investment in Montgomery will further trigger additional out-of-state dollars in the properties and grow light manufacturing and assembly jobs here, which will assist those who remain sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

RACP, a $3.1 billion program administered through the Office of the Budget, provides grants for development projects that boost the economic, civic, cultural, recreational or historical value of the surrounding community.
