HARRISBURG – State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23), chairman of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, this week met with two of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s nominees to serve as heads of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Rich Negrin, who was nominated to serve as secretary of DEP, and Cindy Adams Dunn, who was again nominated to serve as DCNR secretary,” Yaw said. “Both meetings provided an opportunity to bring to light some challenges that both agencies face, as well as some opportunities. We also discussed a few items on my legislative agenda for this session. I am feeling optimistic, and we agree, we can advance policies that promote energy development and protect our environment. They are not mutually exclusive. I look forward to the confirmation process.”
