HARRISBURG – State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) this week honored former Senator Jack McGregor, and his wife Joannah, during their visit to the State Capitol in Harrisburg.
McGregor was elected as one of the youngest members of the legislative body at just 28 and represented the 44th Senatorial District (Allegheny County) from 1963 to 1970. He is the founder and original owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.
“It’s not very often you meet a person with such a clear and inspiring vision as Jack McGregor,” Sen. Yaw said. “His extraordinary contributions to the state and his district were numerous and significant. It’s an honor to welcome him back to the Senate Chamber.”
Senator and Mrs. McGregor reside in Union County.
