HARRISBURG – State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) and Rep. Jeff Wheeland (R-83) will hold a press conference on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, beginning at 2PM in the State Capitol Media Center (East Wing), to announce legislation that will regulate and establish an additional tax on video skill games in the Commonwealth.
Legal skill games provide much-needed revenue for restaurants, bars, fraternal organizations and veterans groups. During the pandemic, they have been lifelines for small businesses and organizations, such as VFWs and American Legions, that say they would have shut down for good if not for skill game funds.
Skill games were deemed legal by a 2014 Court of Common Pleas decision in Beaver County.
In addition to Sen. Yaw and Rep. Wheeland, speakers will include: Representative Manuel Guzman, Jr. (D-127); Representative Danilo Burgos (D-197); Ryan Sprankle, Owner, Sprankles Neighborhood Markets; Nicole Miele, who leads Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving; and Dave Ragan of Veterans Promise.
The press conference will be webcast live at www.SenatorGeneYaw.com – and an archived video will be available shortly after the press conference concludes.
