May 10, 2010 - Senator Yaw hosted Senators Pileggi and Erickson on a tour of the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Industry in Northcentral Pennsylvania. The Senators visited numerous sites in Lycoming County including an active well site, compressor station and a freshwater impoundment.  A close-up of a freshwater impoundment used in the hydraulic fracturing process. This particular company is utilizing a temporary overland piping system to get the water to the well sites which dramatically reduces truck traffic on local roads.
