November 29, 2011 - Flood recovery work at various bridge sites in Sullivan County

November 29, 2011 - FEMA/Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Centers to close Wednesday

September 14, 2011 - Disaster Recovery Centers to Open in Seven Locations (FEMA)

The following is information we have gathered for your assistance with the current flood situation in our area.

RE:  Pennsylvania Flood Disaster Relief Available for Credit Union Members, Volunteers and Employees

In response to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) has joined forces with the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) to activate an online disaster relief system, CUAid.coop, to raise money for credit union people affected along the East Coast.  Funds from CUAid will be used to assist credit union employees, volunteers, members, and credit unions in Pennsylvania who suffered losses not covered by insurance or any other government assistance.

Grants will range from $500 to $1,500. Grant applications will be available until October 30, 2011. The grant application and criteria can be downloaded from the PA Credit Union Foundation’s website:  http://www.pcua.coop/About-Us/Affiliates/PaCUF.aspxGrants will only be made to Pennsylvania residents to cover flood damage that occurred from Tropical Storm Lee in September 2011.

Joining together cooperatively to help those in need is the heart and soul of the credit union movement.  Credit unions are committed to help their members in these very unfortunate times and we ask you to assist us by sharing this relief information with your constituents.
